Tiose and Lei's Taro Fa'ausi

INGREDIENTS

1 medium Taro
1 and half tsp sugar
2 medium fresh Coconuts
1 Brown Coconut to make coconut cream

METHOD

  1. Peel the Taro and slice, place into a pot of boiling water.
  2. Scrape the fresh coconut and squeeze to make coconut cream.
  3. Heat a fry pan, add sugar and caramelize and then add coconut cream to make a sauce.
  4. Once Taro is cooked take it out of pot , cool it down and mash well.
  5. Shape into balls and press flat into patties. In some of the patties make a small hole with your finger.
  6. Pour the sauce over the patties.
