Mafi and Mia's Steamed Kumala and Yam with Pele

INGREDIENTS

1kg Kumala
1kg Yam
12 leaves Pele

METHOD

  1. Peel the kumala and the yam and cut into thin slices.
  2. Layer the Yam and kumala on a large square of tin foil leaving room to roll up.
  3. Place a thick layer of raw pele leaves on the top, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Make a watertight parcel with the foil and place in the oven to cook or steam in a pot of boiling water for 30mins.
  5. Once the vegetables are cooked this is ready to serve.
